When you feel stressed due to fear, it’s time to look at your thinking.
Nanette Giacoma, Open for Business
I’ve had several discussions in the last couple of days about how negative thoughts can lead to challenging feelings.
Your thoughts are correlated to your seventh (crown) chakra, and your feelings are associated with your second (sacral) chakra. And these two chakras energetically communicate with each other (unless you’ve got some energetic blocks going on).
So when you have a thought, positive or negative, it usually evokes a feeling. These can range from sad, happy, fear, stress, anger, surprise, joy, peace, disgust, and so on. Of course, it’s typically not positive thoughts that are a problem. It’s the negative ones!
For me, this usually shows up when I’m changing something in my business. Right now, I’m working on dove-tailing two different parts of my business. My thoughts sound like this. You might make a mistake! Are you sure you “should” be spending that money? What if your clients don’t understand? Feelings that come up range from anxiety, to worry, to fear of failure.
Fortunately, I am intimately familiar with these thoughts that loop over and over in my mind. They were programmed in me when I was a child. I would sometimes get into trouble if I didn’t do things perfectly, and that inner child still gets activated. When this happens, I have to pause and reassure her that it’s going to be okay.
It’s not uncommon to get caught in negative thinking loops that have associated challenging feelings. When a thought endlessly cycles in your mind, it just means you are sub-consciously playing out your pre-programming. Usually, we don’t even realize it’s happening. But you can begin to reprogram your brain so you are not ruled by your negative thoughts and subsequent emotions.
How? Here’s a step-by-step guide.
WAYS TO BALANCE YOUR CROWN-SACRAL CHAKRA CONNECTION
- Make a short list of your most challenging thoughts
- Beside each write how you feel when you think them
- Practice being aware of the thought(s)
- Notice the feeling(s) the thought(s) brings up
- Pause
- Take 3 deep breaths and become as emotionally neutral as possible
- Create and then say an affirmation that will help you create new neural pathways to reprogrammed your brain.
- For example: “It’s only a thought.” “I release this thought.” “I am aware.” “I am at peace.” “I create new ways of thinking and feeling every day.” ” I embrace new discoveries.” “I am emotionally neutral.”
And remember: You may have to do this multiple times a day<3 Maintain your curiosity<3 You will forget sometimes<3 You will get better with practice<3 You cannot fail at this – only learn from it<3 It will take time<3 We are all on soul journeys to becoming more spiritual beings<3
