Opening Sacred Doors

In life there are many chances to step through sacred doors. Some doors are literal – like when we enter a sacred space, church, ashram, synagog, or sacred circle. Other sacred doors appear magically when synchronicity shows up in the form of the right partnership, relationship, situation or professional opportunity.

But, how do we know which doors are sacred when it’s not obvious? Which ones are magical and which ones are just another rabbit hole that will take us back to where we started? I personally have fallen down many, many rabbit holes! This happens when I listen to my rabbit self. My rabbit self is fearful of everything that “might” put me at “risk”. This can be anything from not perfectly doing something, to displeasing a loved one, to fear of speaking out against perceived authority.

Within the chakra system, the seventh (crown) chakra is correlated with our Spiritual connection – our Higher Power. When we spiritually show up we can view every door (whether it is wide open or just ajar) as an invitation to move in a new direction. Sometimes this means going somewhere you hadn’t planned.

How do you figure out which door to pass through? This is where you have to sit in your spiritual center. Ask your Higher Power, “Is this for my highest good, the highest good of my loved ones, the highest good of all?”

Take a moment to sit in meditation and go inside. Write a prayer to your Higher Power and ask, “Which door will take me down my Sacred Path?” Read what you have written. You may want to make this part of a daily spiritual practice until you are certain which door to pass through. Watch as your Higher Power clears your doubts – then say “yes” as you step through the Sacred Door revealed.
