A woman walks into a barn (that woman is me) and over the course of 3 days, discovers 3 dead mice. (It kind of makes me want to sing a well known song, Three Blind Mice, using different words). Anyway….
A couple of weeks prior, I had been thinking about how there were too many mice in the barn. I like mice in small numbers, but there comes a point where the destruction they create outweighs their cuteness. Hence I put a desire out into the Universe, “It would be really helpful to have a barn cat.”
The feral cat showed up shortly afterward. I’ve named her Maleficent. She’s a regular at the barn, and now I only see 1-2 mice a week instead of 2-3 a day. But, she was not the cause of the demise of the afore mentioned 3 mice. One died in the rollers of a stall door. One froze in a bucket of water, and one I just found frozen on the floor of a horse stall. (The horse swears she had nothing to do with it).
A couple of days after the mice incident, a Bald Eagle showed up. It was HUGE. Even from a distance, I could tell it was enormous. It sat in the field for at least an hour and a half preparing some prey that was much, much too big to be a mouse!
So, I could just shrug and think, “How weird! What strange coincidences!” But, I’m more of a synchronicity type of gal. I was certain these animals were Spirit Guides coming to me with important messages. But, it did bring to mind the quote, “Don’t kill the messenger.” Ummmm…what if they are already dead? I was certain that was part of the message. (The Universe sure has a quirky sense of humor.)
In terms of chakras, synchronicity is closely aligned with the fourth (heart) chakra and your Heart’s Desires.
My only child is a sophomore in college, and I’ve spent the last year transitioning from Mother to contemplating my Third Act.
My First Act was my early adulthood, where I was still figuring out myself and my career. My Second Act was when I became a mother. So far my Third Act has been about getting clear about my Heart’s Desires and my current purpose in the world.
I’m more aware of my limited time on this planet, and I really want to make my time, effort and energy count towards something bigger than myself. And, moving into my Third Act feels BIG! I know some things I’m doing now will have to change. And, there are unknowns that I will need to welcome into my life.
When working from an expansive heart, we work in concert with the universal energy to attract the people, things and situations that are for our highest good and the highest good of all – even if they come in the form of strange messages from Spirit Guides.
Sprit Guides are there to help us move forward in the face of challenges. Because it’s not uncommon for us to lose sight of our Heart’s Desires by getting lost in the fear of our HUGE new vision that still needs to be fed (like a giant bald eagle), or have resistance to releasing familiar situations or relationships that may need to change (like 3 dead mice), or welcome unexpected people that enter our lives (like a feral cat).
So, if you have unusual activity in your life, or strange visitors, consider it may be the Universe’s way of bringing you synchronicity and wisdom.
