When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.
I’ve been playing with the energy of the Bear by changing the word bare into the word bear. For instance, bear naked, bear my soul, bear bones, bear foot, bear with me, bear necessities…well you get the idea. Why?
It all started with the Journey Circle class I taught earlier this month at the Maine Jung Center. We did a guided journey with Medicine Bear. A guided journey uses your active imagination to help you gain access to the signs, symbols and wisdom available from Source. Medicine Bear was a powerful doorway for many class participants to explore the Bear as a Spirit Guide.
We had a deep discussion about how we all have the power to tap into our Inner Healer (Bear Medicine) and how the Bear symbol has many, many layers. I learned so much from this discussion, and it has given me pause (paws) to reflect on my own relationship with Bear as a Guide. Frequently, I find I am both student and teacher of subjects I need to look at for my own spiritual development. More accurately, my ego thinks I’m the teacher, when in fact, I’m always the student no matter what my professional role is at the moment.
A few days after my class, a client showed me a beautiful new bracelet they bought (on the same day I taught my class – mind you). It was covered with…you guessed it…bears! That must have been some serious Bear mojo we were sending out during class if it was picked up 2000 miles away!
Coincidence? Maybe. More likely it was synchronicity! I pay close attention when synchronistic events happen like this – it’s always a Spiritual message for me. Apparently, Source thinks I need to be a student of Bear at this time.
So, I retrieved my bear talisman from the family room and it’s now on my desk so I can talk to Bear while I’m working. I’m also meditating with this Spirit Guide in the mornings.
As I go about my daily business, I am noticing how I am like Bear, and how I’m not. I’m becoming more aware of the need to create some boundaries – particularly with some of my close relationships.
I’m typically the mediator in all my family relationships, but lately I just don’t want to! This is my Bear energy surfacing. Energetically, I correlate this with the third (solar-plexus) chakra. The energetic rights of the third chakra are “I act! I choose! I will! I intend!” Goals include, strength of will, personal power, and effectiveness. Imbalances can show up as a need to control and as suppressed anger, just to name a few.
My Bear Spirit Guide is telling me it’s time to shift out of my mediator role. By letting go of this long-held belief, I allow myself and others to fully develop personal power and effectiveness. So long as I’m doing the work for others, they don’t have to learn to do it themselves. And frankly, it’s a way I’m trying to control the situation – to make it more comfortable for me!
So, I’m beginning to embrace my Inner Bear by practicing being Bear Naked – my true nature; to Bear my Soul – be transparent and honest; to go Bear Foot – use my instincts and intuition; be okay with the Bear Bones – allow for discomfort and anger (in myself and others); let others Bear With Me – to protect my energetic and emotional boundaries; and finally appreciate the Bear Necessities – have gratitude for the simple things in my life.
I would like to share some Medicine Bear energy with you. Below is a link to a guided journey with Medicine Bear Woman. This is a journey that will help you harmonize your chakras. The link will also take you to 7 additional chakra journeys. I hope you find them healing.
