The Words, The Moon, and The Owl

The owl is nocturnal with keen senses of sight and sound. It sees through the shadows of the night and hears the sounds in the silence; the illusion of the darkness. This teaches us to see past our own illusions and trust our intuition and perceptive senses. Anonymous

Words are powerful! Many of us know the phrase, “In the beginning was the Word,” from the word of God/dess the world was created. Australian Aborigines say the Ancestors brought the world into being by naming things. When the goddess Isis learned the secret name of the powerful god Ra, she then had power over him (Moss, 2015)

Our words are equally powerful, especially when we use them to set our intentions and connect them with our Higher Self’s intuition and our Source. The following is an incredible story of how words, intuition, and Source came together in a moment of greater insight and understanding.

Over the weekend, I spent some sacred time with a few beautiful friends. We ate, danced, sang, and wrote and shared powerful affirmations to guide us through some of our challenging life situations. One I shared is, “I’m clear about my intentions and next steps in my work.”

After our deeply heart-centered evening, I was driving one of my dear friends home on a long, dark, tree-lined stretch of road, and our conversation turned to work.

I noticed the brilliant waning moon hanging between the trees, which reflected a recent mask I had made called Soul Guardian of Intuition. The moon also made me think of owls because the two are often symbolically connected – the wise owl and the moon of intuition.

I relayed to my friend that I had been feeling owl energy calling me ever since I saw an owl sitting in a tree in the middle of the day earlier that week. I revealed the next mask I create would be a horned owl. Then I went on to explain my intentions to do a YouTube video on how to make a plaster face mask, with subsequent videos on the Owl Spirit Guide mask creation.

No more than ten seconds later, an owl flew into my windshield!!

I was horrified that it may have been killed or injured and immediately stopped the car on the side of the road with flashers on. I searched with a flashlight for it but found nothing, leaving me with some hope that the owl flew off.

Given the timing of my words to my friend, the brilliant moon of intuition, my written and spoken affirmation, and the owl hitting my windshield, I knew this Owl had to be a Spirit Guide sent by Source with a BIG message for me. But what was it?

It didn’t take long for insight and understanding to hit me head-on. I’ve been saying I’m going to make a YouTube video of me making a plaster face mask for nearly a year now. But I’ve been procrastinating because I’m nervous about being on video, and I had to learn some new technology. Every week I put it on my work list of things to do, and I transferred it to the next week, and the next, and the one after that, and…well, you get the idea.

The thing is, I KNEW I needed to do this, both at the intuitive and rational level! As a marketing tool, it’s a great way to engage people in what I do. It’s also a tool for my clients who want to make a Spirit Guide Mask with me or try one on their own. But mostly because it is a crucial next step in raising my vibration to match where I want to take my work.

An Owl Spirit Guide hitting my windshield is an extreme example of Source trying to get my attention. But apparently, I needed to be shaken up a bit to get out of my comfort zone.

So, as you can imagine, I just HAD to do the YouTube Video on How to Make a Plaster Face Mask. Here is the link. I look forward to your feedback:)

Are you procrastinating on taking action on something important? No, I’m not talking about folding laundry, vacuuming, or doing the dishes. This is Soul level stuff.

Are your Spirit Guides trying to get your attention? Here are some ways they may be trying to communicate with you:

  • What odd coincidences or experiences have you had lately? Also known as synchronicities.
  • Have you seen a sign, symbol, animal, person, or thing three or more times in a short period?
  • Perhaps you keep hearing/seeing certain words or phrases?
  • What significant dreams have you had?
  • When meditating, what images come to mind, what messages do you hear, or what body sensations grab your attention?

The language of Spirit Guides is often through signs, symbols, niggling feelings, coincidences, odd experiences, or our dreams. The key is to notice.

How is your Guide trying to get your attention? Use your imagination to help you wander spiritually in the greater Universal energies, and listen intuitively beyond the five senses.

Many blessings!
XOXO,

Nanette
